ABOUT ME
I’m Ella Paquette, a Graphic and Web Designer who will be graduating from John Abbott College in 2026. When I was 9, I took painting classes in the West Island of Quebec. I had so much fun making clay creatures and painting animals and landscapes that I continued to pursue art classes in high school.
Art has always come naturally to me, but the future was daunting with so many options. Despite the many choices, my love for art and learning new skills led me to specialize in turning my ideas into something you can’t look away from, ultimately choosing Graphic and Web Design as my passion.
ART
Creativity, hobbies, and passion—I was always known as the art kid, sitting in the back of the class, constantly drawing. Now, I sit at the front, studying a creative field I have always been deeply driven by. It makes me so happy.
PHOTOS
No matter where I go, my friends always call me out for taking too many photos. I say it’s for the memories, but in truth, I have a habit for capturing the natural of things. Now, my course gives me the perfect excuse: “It’s for my portfolio.”
DREAMS
As a kid, I never imagined pursuing art. Despite clear signs of my skills, I doubted a stable future in it. Through research, I discovered the high demand for Graphic and Web Design, a path I could see myself following. That research led me to where I am now and my choice to study Graphic and Web Design at John Abbott College.
PATHWAY
Currently my studies in the GWD course have been a success and I am in my last year of the program. I had a lot of fun working on a lot of projects and met a lot of wonderful people. Afterwards, I will be looking for Graphic Design jobs and a university I can attend once I’m done!
GOALS
My goal is always to become the best version of myself, whether by improving the skills I have or developing those I lack. I constantly strive to learn more about the subjects I love, such as Graphic and Web Design. Right now, my biggest goals are to kick-start my career and establish my name in the industry.
