HAIKU POEM

For my project, I created a haiku inspired by Koybayashi Issa’s poem about tenderness and pain, by incorporating roses and brambles. I designed a scene with a man and woman standing in a rose garden. Surrounded by bushes, that add depth.

While the setting appears romantic, the woman holds a knife behind her back symbolizing the underlying tension and potential betrayal in relationships. Through this piece, I wanted to explore the delicate balance between love and harm, and how romance can hurt at times.
